Spring news

First off - our NY house is under contract! Yippeeeeeee! They want to close by May 30, and if the lawyers all have their acts together, there's no reason why that can't happen. So, we are making plans for the final move and there's a lot still left to pack. We did some research, and it looks like the old U-Haul is going to be the most economical. We tried the ABF "U-Pack" site, and they don't service our part of NH (guess we're too far out in the boonies). Then we tried PODS, and they do come to our part of NH, but they also charge a phenomenally large amount, given that you do all the work, and they just drive the PODS from one place to the other. Since with either ABF or PODS you are packing the truck or storage unit yourself, it's really no different from U-Haul, except we do the driving.

In other news, the snow in NH is finally melting. There's a regular stream running down the hill, and you can see a lot of ground now. Here's some pics - the first is the view from the side yard out to the paddock. The chicken coop is at the far right:

This is a shot along the side of the paddock, looking up the logging road that runs the length of the property:

And this of course is Mixie, eating. She likes eating:

Here is my haiku for Spring:

Snow melting softly
Streams flow quickly past grey trees
Warmth and life are here

Yay Spring! Finally, too, from the sounds and sights of it. 'Grats on the selling the former house, that must be some relief!

Thank you! Yes it is. My parents came over yesterday to help pack and do some fix-ups the buyers wanted. Well, I think I packed two small boxes, and my stepmom packed something like 15. My dad and I worked on a few of the fixes. Here's hoping YOUR house will sell quickly!

Hooray! Good to know you'll finally make the move. OK, Mixie is probably the cutest thing on four feet! We'll adopt her if you find her to be too much. In fact we have some teens.... maybe we could trade?? There's a tweenager living here...he's still cute....

Oh! I have a Mixie haiku!

Mixie eating straw
Her coat looks like straw as well
Isn't she so sweet?
